Meet Sydnei Matthews:
Owner & Lead Plumber
P&A Plumbing
Sydnei Matthews is the owner and lead Plumber of P&A Plumbing, a certified Union Plumbing Contractor with Chicago Local 130.
She brings more a decade of experience on major Construction projects throughout Chicago as a Licensed Union Plumber, and today she leads P&A on commercial, public and residential work across Chicagoland.
Sydnei began her Construction career in 2015 in the Pre-Apprenticeship program at Chicago Women in Trades (CWIT).
After a hands-on training at Plumbers Local 130, she knew she had found her calling. She completed her Apprenticeship and became a Licensed Plumber.
Sydnei is the first Plumber in her family, but not the first Union Tradesworker. Her grandmother, Annie Scott, has been a proud Union Laborer since 1987.
As a Woman of Color in a male-dominated industry, Sydnei turned challenges into resilience, supported by her family and her Trade Sisters at CWIT.
